Tomorrow, Sunday July 11th is the New Moon. The studio will be closed.People often ask, why moon day? What is the significance? This tradition is maintained in the Ashtanga yoga method as taught Sri K. Pattabhi Jois in Mysore, India. The moon has a strong effect on the movement and flow of water on the planet. Since our bodies are in large part made of water it is safe to say that the moon has an effect on us. There is a transition of movement flow from one direction to another at the point of the New and Full moon. It is believed that the best way to accommodate this shift is to “take rest.” Happy Moon Day!!

We can hardly wait!!! Only one week away and Tim will be here. We are excited to be able to practice with him and over the moon that he will be visiting our town here in Juno. Those of you who have practiced at the Jupiter Civic Center before know what an amazing location this is. Tim is so talented and yet completely humble. It is truly an honor to have this opportunity. Tam and I can’t speak highly enough about Tim!!! He is an extraordinary teacher. We are so excited to be able to share the evening with him at the Civic Center in Jupiter and with all of you. It is a rare treat to study with someone who has been active with the yoga for over 30 years. It is an inspiration to be around him because he is so extremely talented and yet he is so humble.
