Get Your Wings On

A couple of thoughts for today.

I just returned from visiting with family in Tennessee this past week. It was a wonderful week just relaxing in the beautiful country side that is East Tennessee hill country.

Something about this time completely refreshed me. I have had so much pressure on me of late and I feel like that pressure release valve opened and I was reminded how amazing life really is.

We were eating at a local Mexican restaurant in Greeneville with the family and Tamara looked at me and said, “don’t move, let me catch this picture of you.”

So this morning as I was walking Georgie and just feeling so full of excitement I thought I really have to take time to write and get some of my ideas out onto paper. This moment came to mind. The experience of feeling that pressure release and feeling like there is so much potential in the moment is reflective in these butterfly wings.

We all have the ability to take flight. The act of flying is metaphorical for the feeling that there is hope. Potential exists. There is unity in our day to day community that is a resource that we can tap into. We need to tap into this on a daily basis.

I think that a lot of the pressure that we are facing is because we feel that there is separation between ourselves and others and it is the separation that is causing the pain. The feeling that others are against us or that we have to defend our right for existence can cause so much angst.

The process of coming together and sharing a meal. The feeling that even if things get as bad as they can get that those around us that care about us will help when we are truly in need. This is what gives me so much faith in life.

My dream is that we can all just get a little relief when we need it. My goal is to help provide a space where it is possible to feel that incredible connection that comes from being loved in our community.

The best technique I employ these days is one breath. One breath is all it takes to get into the present moment. It is really that simple. One deep breath and experiencing that breath to its fullest and then remembering that everything is going to be okay.

Take a little time to let go of some of the pressure you are feeling. Take a deep breath. Put a smile on your face. Remember the love that surrounds you. Visualize love and even if you can’t feel love right now just do everything you can to try to remember a moment when you felt your happiest. Bring that moment back into your consciousness and just bring those feelings back in.

Did it work?

If you need a little help the key is to get plenty of exercise and to set aside time for this practice. If you need a little assistance check out our resources to help get you going at the link below.
